Respected Sportswriter Suspended For Twitter Lie
Mike Wise from the Washington Post says he was trying to prove a point about “no one checking facts” anymore in journalism. So, he went ahead and fabricated a story that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be suspended from the NFL for five games due to his alleged assault on a Georgia College Student. Well, the suspension is not true, and now Mike Wise is receiving a lot of backlash. He certainly did prove his point as a bunch of other news entities picked up the story without checking their facts first!
So now Mike Wise has been suspended from the Washington Post for 30 days and many have said he has lost credibility. He probably will cool off on Twitter a bit.
