Dollar Tree Halloween Lantern Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 682,000 Halloween ghost, pumpkin and skull lanterns being sold via Dollar Tree, Occasions, Dollar Bill$, Dollar Tree Deal$ and Deal$. Made in China.

Why the Lantern Recall?

The halloween lanterns have certain light bulbs in them that could overheat and potentially burn your child. So take these way from your kids and go back to the store for a refund.

Fisher Price Recalling 10 Millions Products

Fisher-Price tricycle high chair recall10 million Fisher Price products. That’s a big recall. The items being recalled from the East Aurora, NY company include:

  • 7 million Fisher-Price Tough Trikes and Trikes tricycles for toddlers. Risk of serious injury
  • 1 million of their high chairs…Healthy Care, Easy Clean and Close to Me High Chairs
  • 2.9 million miscellaneous toys for choking issues.

Walmart Deli Meat Recalled Due to Contamination

Walmart recall for deli meatConsumerist reports via the USDA that Zemco Industries recalled 380,000 pounds of deli meat that it distro’d to Walmart stores. The deli meat is marketed to Walmart customers under the Marketside brand name. Comsumerist notes that no one has yet reported ill, and that the contamination deals with Listeria monocytogenes, which can be fatal to infants, the elderly and those with weak immune systems.

Toyota and Lexus Cars Being Recalled For Faulty Floor Mats

Gas PedalIf you don’t want your Toyota or Lexus to have its accelerator pedal stuck to the ground, you may want to bring your car to the nearest dealership to get it unstuck. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is calling this an urgent situation, explaining that certain floor mats can keep that pedal down, sending you driving until something or someone stops you.

The NHTSA has indicated that a stuck accelerator pedal could result in injury or death. No shit.

GBH Found in Bindeez, Popular Australian Children’s Toy

Bindeez Australian Toy GBHThe popular Australian toy “Bindeez” that was Australian Toy of the Year in 2007 was recalled after the discovery that it can break down into GBH if eaten – GBH is also known as the “date-rape drug”. The Chinese-made toy has been banned in Australia. Its American counterpart known as Aqua Dotz has also been banned.

A 19 month old Queensland child was hospitalized after swallowing some of the Bindeez beads. The child’s grandfather rushed into action after finding that the child became unconscious.
