Here’s one I saw on Twitter user @lokay’s feed. Looks like someone at the MBTA Transit Police was a little too fired up for the New England Patriots game, sending a public message rather than a Twitter direct message. Dude, use texting or personal email!

Relax everyone. Entenmann’s, everyone’s favorite pastry food item, is over-apologizing for an accidental tweet that used a popular #notguilty hash tag on Twitter. The hash tag was trending since people were using it to comment on the the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial. If you didn’t know (or get your news from reputable organizations), Casey Anthony was accused of killing her 2 year old daughter in Florida. Someone from Entenmann’s social media team posted the tweet and they have had to apologize a lot.

Vern Fonk Insurance, an insurance company from Washington state, has the best TV commercials. Even better (and cheaper, I’m sure) than Geico. I like my commercials goofy. Vern Folk nails it. The first one below is a spoof on Back to the Future…so funny. What insurance company would ever spoof Back to the Future?
Check out all the Vern Fonk videos on their Youtube page

Myspace.com, once the behemoth of social networks, is about ready to lay off about half of its 1,000-person work force. This is according to the LA Times who also says Myspace could be ready to sell. What happened to Myspace. News Corp. bought them for $580 million in 2006. Tom for the hell out of there. I can recall being in college and utilizing Friendster, but being steered towards Myspace by friends for more friends. Friendster also had the worst performance issues I’ve ever seen on a website.
Myspace advertising revenue has dropped an astounding 26% from last year. That is wild. C-Level executives have exited one after another. Current executives hoped a sitewide rebrand a couple months ago could help generate more users who want to use its new “entertainment hub” content. It’s too late, though. Users have already moved on from Myspace to Facebook and other fragmented networks like Tumblr, Ning, and more.

Update 12/14 3:09 EST
It appears the recent LinkedIn downtime is related to their move to a new LA data center. The blog post by Stefan Apitz boasts that the data center will be more reliable. Guess they are having some wrinkles from the Sunday move up until now.

SunChips ditched a compostable bag since too many consumers complained about how noisy it was, mostly on social media websites. There’s even a Facebook Page dedicated to the loud bags. Listen to the 13 second video below to hear how long the SunChips bag is. The follow-up video is from Helmi Ansari, sustainability leader for SunChips Canada. He explains that Canada has decided to keep the noisy bag since the tradeoff is clear. Less waste for a cleaner Canada.

A 22 year old Jacksonville, FL mother has pleaded guilty for shaking her baby to death. Why did she do it? The three month old would not stop crying why she was trying to play FarmVille on Facebook. Her name is Alexandra V. Tobias. Hopefully, she will spend life in prison, but could only serve 25 to 50 years.

Olde English, every 18 year old’s “favorite” beer has been voted the worst shit on planet earth by the snobby voters at RateBeers dot calm. I had some friends that said they loved this beer in 40s when we were teenagers, but Olde English tasted so fucking bad that I figured they really didn’t know any better. This was my least favorite beer followed by Steel Reserve and Molson XXX. If I wanted some malt liquor, I usually went for some cool Colt45, just like Billy Dee Williams told me to.

Update #1: An employee named Ameerah has stepped forward to accept responsibility on Price Chopper’s behalf. She apparently acted on her own, failing to notify Price Chopper’s team when responding to “Donnie’s” negative tweet. Still not sure why she took it upon herself to contact his employer, which still blows us away. Her twitter account notes that she is an MBA-educated PR Specialist.
Over at a Price Chopper Fail tumblr, Anthony (@rotolo) has described a recent altercation that took place between Price Chopper’s media team and a customer. For our purposes here, we will address the anonymous customer in Anthony’s story as ‘Donnie’. According to Anthony, Price Chopper overreacted to a tweet from ‘Donnie’ in which he compared them to Wegman’s, a rival grocery store in the New York area. The tweet read something like what is below. The original tweet and photo is no longer online and neither is the link to the image. Read the Rest
