Entenmann’s Casey Anthony Tweet

Relax everyone. Entenmann’s, everyone’s favorite pastry food item, is over-apologizing for an accidental tweet that used a popular #notguilty hash tag on Twitter. The hash tag was trending since people were using it to comment on the the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial. If you didn’t know (or get your news from reputable organizations), Casey Anthony was accused of killing her 2 year old daughter in Florida. Someone from Entenmann’s social media team posted the tweet and they have had to apologize a lot.

Seattle Police Leave Assault Rifle on Car

A powerful assault rifle was without supervision on the back of a Seattle police car. The Seattle Police Department says they’re very embarrassed. This got attention online after a citizen named Nick Gonzales posted a photo he took on the web. After taking the photo, he flagged down two bike cops to tell them about it and they were “shocked as hell”.

Public Transportation is a Nightmare

licking shoes on subwayI’m so glad I don’t need to take public transportation. Most the time it’s ok. But you can get caught in the middle of the weirdest stuff. People will get in fights, cut their toenails, scream, piss themselves, and so on. The latest incident I found online involved a woman (read: bitch) relentlessly screaming at a bus driver about music she’s playing. Thank god for smartphones so we can watch it all.

The US Dollar Redesigned

Unbeknownst to me, there is a large movement to redesign the US dollar. A favorite of mine and others is the Dowling Duncan effort which uses a vertical orientation. Why vertical? Most people deal with money in a vertical sense. The width of Duncan’s notes are the same as the existing US dollar, but the lengths vary across values, with the $100 dollar bill being longest. If you have a bunch of bills in your heand, you can easily sort by denomination. His themes are also awesome:

Hulu is For Sale…Is it a Bust?

Hulu’s owners are putting the web site up for sale, hoping to rake in some cash from a mega–company like Yahoo, etc. For a while, it looked like Hulu could be a viable option for peeps who did not want to sign on with Netflix. Rumor has it that Jason Kilar (Hulu CEO) is rubbing Hulu backers (read: studio and network execs) the wrong way and tensions have been mounting.

I wonder if new management could make Hulu work. Everyone I know who purchases on demand media usually goes with Apple or Netflix, not Hulu Plus.

Southwest Airlines Pilot Goes off Gays and Women

southwest pilot rantThis rules. Some Southwest Airlines pilot broadcasted on the wrong frequency while flying. He managed to piss everyone off from gay flight attendants to fat women. Southwest suspended the pilot without pay, sent him to sensitivity training and required him to apologize. Flight attendants are not satisfied, though, and may sue Southwest.

Crane Carrying Pool Smashes in Garage

pool crane in garageSome electricians doing some wiring work for an in-ground pool installation recorded a crane (carrying the pool) as it smashed into a home’s garage, knocking out a chimney in the process. I don’t think the home owner was around. The video’s youtube description says the crane operator called him/her right away. Listen to the driver scream “God dammitt!! Arrrggg!”

Scrub to 2:01 to see the accident.
